The State of Florida is located in the south-eastern United States, it is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.

Florida is often referred to as "State-Peninsula" as its main area is located on a peninsula in the stretched side of the Atlantic, like frying pans handle, which is a strip of land on the north-west of the state is attached to the mainland.

Florida came into the United States of America, Union of 3 March 1845 and became the 27th state of the account. From 1800, numerous immigrants who wanted these lands, changed the history of Florida, making their work once the wildest and backward region of the country as the fastest growing state in the US.

The name "La Florida," which roughly means "Land of Flowers", gave the peninsula the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon, when I first visited these places in 1513. It seems that he chose the name because he was struck by the magnificent abundance of many different colors and shades the plants that adorn the land. And because on these shores, he landed on the eve of Passover, whose name in Spanish: "Pascua Florida".

The official nickname - "The Sunshine State" reflects the economic importance of the Florida climate, which the citizens of the state is considered "the most important natural resource." Other popular nicknames as "Evergleyd State" and "State of Orange."
