The most important river of many states originate from the largest water artery - the Colorado River.

The origins of the three major water systems of the Mississippi-Missouri, located on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. This is the Arkansas River (Arkansas), Sauze Platte (South Platte) and Republica (Republican).

In the west of the Rocky Mountains in Grand Lake (Grand Lake) originates Colorado River (Colorado River). It carries its waters through Middle Park region to the southwest of Utah and holds twelfth of the United States.

Several major tributaries of the Colorado River, including the Uncompahgre (Uncompahgre), Dzhannison (Gunnison), San Juan (San Juan) and Dolores (Dolores) are also the Colorado Water Resources.

In the San Juan River originates, and the river Rio Grande (Rio Grande), which flows to the east and south of the state of Colorado, and crosses the border with the state of New Mexico. A river ERA Platte originates at North Park lands and flows into Wyoming.
